K.DZHAKUPOV: PARLIAMENTARIANS WILL PROMOTE THE STRENGTHENING OF COOPERATION BETWEEN KAZAKHSTAN AND THE NETHERLANDS

Astana, May 20, the House of the Mazhilis. The Chairman of the Mazhilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov as part of his working visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands held a series of bilateral meetings, the main themes of which were the areas of further bilateral cooperation, global security and stability.

During the conversation with the Chairman of the Senate Anki Brokers-Knol the speaker of the Mazhilis stressed the commitment of both countries to address current issues in these areas.

Anki Brokers-Knol expressed the satisfaction with the high level of relations between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands and confirmed the readiness to develop a dialogue both in bilateral and multilateral formats. - Solidarity and cooperation are the basic principles on which our countries build relationships for last two decades, - said A.Brokers-Knol.

According to the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Netherlands in the near future the promising areas for cooperation are the democracy, the economy and the regional policy.

Particular attention is paid to the issues of global security. The Chairman of the Mazhilis said that the policy of the Head of our State aims to promote social progress, to maintain global peace and security, to develop friendly relations between the two countries.

Therefore K.Dzhakupov expressed the hope that the Kingdom of the Netherlands will support Kazakhstan’s candidacy for non-permanent member in the UN Security Council for the years of 2017-2018.

The theme of economic cooperation strengthening was developed in the course of the meeting with the Minister of Economic Relations Henk Kamp.

The two sides highly appreciated the level of partnership between the two countries. Today, the Netherlands takes the first place among the investors in Kazakhstan, and the volume of bilateral trade in 2014 exceeded 9 billion USD.

According Kabibully Dzhakupov, the Kazakh-Dutch Business Councilwill contribute topromote the trade and economic, investment and technological cooperation.

Expressing his admiration for the development pace of Kazakhstan, Henk Kamp said that President Nursultan Nazarbayev puts the correct emphasis for the further country development. According to Minister of Economic Relations of the Netherlands, a good economic development of Kazakhstan is important for stability in the whole region.

In turn Kabibulla Dzhakupov proposed to use the potential of the Eurasian Union, which may contribute to the convergence of the interests of the countries.

Kabibulla Dzhakupov told the interlocutor about preferences in the Kazakhstan legislation for foreign investors. It was about the laws that facilitate the tax burden, as well as contributing to the improvement of the investment climate.

The sides called oil and gas industry, energy, transport and communications spheres as promising areas of cooperation.

Noting that currently Kazakh parliamentarians are preparing the legislative basis for the effective implementation of the five institutional reforms initiated by President of Kazakhstan, K.Dzhakupov stressed the importance of the international experience for our country, including the Kingdom of the Netherlands’s one.

Henk Kamp has assured the Speaker of the Mazhilis, that he would make every effort to strengthen the Kazakh-Dutch economic relations.

On the same day Speaker of the Mazhilis met with representatives of the Dutch business community and discussed with the deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, co-chairman of the political club “Friends of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands”, Rene van der Linden, the questions on intensification of bilateral Kazakh-Dutch contacts.
