K.DZHAKUPOV MET WITH VICE-SPEAKER OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF THE PARLIAMENT OF AUSTRIA

Astana, May 22, the House of the Mazhilis. The speaker of the Mazhilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov met with Deputy Chairman of the National Council of the Parliament of Austria Karlheinz Kopf, who arrived in our country to participate in VIII Astana Economic Forum.

Vice-Speaker of the National Council stressed the importance of the fact that Astana has once again provides an opportunity for representatives from different countries to get together on one platform to discuss political and economic issues.

The two sides agreed that Astana and Vienna are important and reliable partners for each other. According to K.Kopf, Kazakhstan copes with the role of intermediary of Europe in the Central Asia.

Kabibulla Dzhakupov also noted that our country contributes to the further development of inter-cultural, inter-religious dialogue between East and West, North and South, the main venue of which is Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Astana.

Speaking about trade and economic cooperation, Kabibulla Dzhakupov invited Austrian businessmen to participate more actively in the implementation of industrial and innovative projects in Kazakhstan in the framework of the New Economic Policy “Nurly Zhol” and PFIID (Program for forced industrial-innovative development). The speaker of the Mazhilis focused on the regular improvement of the business environment in our country, especially at the legislative level.

According to Kazakhstani data, the volume of bilateral trade in the past year amounted to 3.1 billion USD.

In turn, Karlheinz Kopf noted that Austrian companies are happy to work in Kazakhstan, because the success of our country is obvious.

Vice-Speaker of the National Council also expressed confidence that bilateral relations should be maintained and developed not only at the level of governments and diplomatic contacts, but also between parliamentarians.
