THE SPEAKER OF THE MAZHILIS HELD SEVERAL BILATERAL MEETINGS WITHIN THE MEETING OF TURKPA

  Astana, December 3, the House of the Mazhilis. The Chairman of the Mazhilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov at the VI plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries met with the heads of parliamentary delegations from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

   The main topics of the meeting were the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the development of cooperation between the two countries in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres as well as topical issues of the international agenda.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis acquainted his colleagues with the activities of Kazakh parliamentarians, primarily on legislative support of the Plan of the Nation “100 concrete steps”.

During the conversation with the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Assadov the Speaker of the Mazhilis congratulated his counterpart with the successful holding of parliamentary elections, and also on his election to the Chairmanship of the Parliament. K.Dzhakupov praised the Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in TurkPA, noting the progress made to improve the efficiency of this Parliamentary Assembly’s activities.

Referring to the theme of the EXPO-2017 in Astana, K.Dzhakupov proposed to hold within the International Exhibition the Festival of Turkic culture.

The importance of the exhibition theme – “Energy of Future” is noted during the conversation with Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Hungary Martha Matrei. The two sides stressed that Kazakhstan and Hungary are of great interest for each other, being the important partners in the development of relations between Europe and Central Asia. The Hungarian Deputy Speaker expressed hope that Kazakhstan will take part in 2016 in the Kurultai, which every year takes place in Hungary.

The theme of inter-parliamentary relations strengthening and the role of parliamentarians in the world today has been continued in the course of the meetings the Chairman of the Mazhilis Kabibully Dzhakupova with the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Assylbek Jeenbekov, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ahmet Aydin.
