HEAD OF STATE OPENS FIRST SESSION OF THE PARLIAMENT OF SIXTH CONVOCATION

Astana, March 25, the House of the Majilis. The Houses of the Parliament held a joint meeting today.  At the meeting the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev announced opening of the first session of the Parliament of sixth convocation.
The Head of State congratulated Majilis members on winning the elections held on March 20, noting that Kazakhstan meets the 25-year anniversary of Independence with the new Parliament composition.
In his speech Nursultan Nazarbayev also outlined the priorities for the country’s further development. Speaking to MPs, the President noted that they are imposed a task to provide legislative support of large-scale radical transformation of the country.
Then the newly elected Parliament members swore an oath.
