Astana, October 21, the House of Mazhilis. Strengthening of the interparliamentary dialogue is an important part of the international diplomacy, comprehensive cooperation and mutual confidence between Kazakhstan and Finland. - Nurlan Nigmatulin, Chairman of the Mazhilis pointed out during his official visit to the Republic of Finland.

In Helsinki, Kazakhstan Mazhilis members conducted negotiations with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Maria Lohela, met with the heads of Kazakh-Finnish Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation, visited “Otaniemi” technical park.

According to N. Nigmatulin, in the light of implementing the large scale reforms of the Head of the state Nursiltan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan’s entry into the list of 30 most developed world countries, the experience of Finnish colleagues in the issues of legislative framework for innovative development, improving of educational system, development of information and communication technologies, cooperation of scientific and business circles has practical interest for Kazakh parliamentarians.

During the meeting with M. Lohela, the Speaker of the Mazhilis highlighted the dynamics of the contacts at the highest and high levels, demonstrating mutual interest to sustainable development of bilateral relations.  

Having highly appreciated relationships between Kazakhstan and Finland in general, M. Lohela expressed her wish to activate cooperation between the parliamentary committees.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis expressed his readiness to coordinate the efforts within the international parliamentary organizations in order to search for the ways to resolve the relevant issues of the international agenda.

Having pointed out the importance of the 25^th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence, as well as of 100^th anniversary of Finland’s Independence and 25^th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries which will be celebrated next year, the Speaker of the Mazhilis invited his colleague to visit our country.
