The Mazhilis will consider amendments on migration issues

Astana, February 9, House of the Mazhilis. The Bureau of the Mazhilis, chaired by the Speaker of the Chamber Yerlan Koshanov, has formed a draft agenda for the upcoming plenary session.

In the first reading, deputies are invited to consider the government bill "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on their alignment with the norms of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan." The document was developed in order to bring it into line with the constitutional norms of legislation in the field of public service.

Amendments initiated by members of Parliament on improving legislation in the field of population migration are being introduced for discussion in the second reading. The bill proposes to limit the possibility of entry and admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan of persons convicted of crimes against the sexual integrity of minors. In addition, foreigners involved in extremist or terrorist activities are prohibited from entering the country.

The draft agenda of the plenary session also includes a draft law on ratification of the Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Turkey on International Combined Cargo Transportation.

Deputies will also have to determine the timing of the preparation of conclusions on new draft laws on responsible treatment of animals and on ensuring safe working conditions and protection of workers' labor rights.
