Astana, November 26, House of the Mazhilis. Chairman of the Mazhilis Nurlan Nigmatulin and Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The historical document, opening a new page in the Kazakh-Uzbek inter-parliamentary cooperation, was signed today as part of the first official visit of the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan to our country.

During the meeting, Nurlan Nigmatulin and Nurdinjon Ismoilov discussed topical issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan parliament members.

They noted the growing dynamics of Kazakh-Uzbek interaction over the past few years, stressing that the agreements reached between the Presidents of the two countries, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, show the example of true constructive cooperation that is developing in a good-neighborly way and mutual understanding.

“Thanks to efficient joint activities based on mutual understanding and friendship between Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have established a trust-based political dialogue and laid a solid foundation for the further development of comprehensive cooperation in all spheres. All this also helps to bring the Kazakh and Uzbek parliaments to a new level,” said N. Nigmatulin.

The Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis Nurdinjon Ismoilov praised the achievements of Kazakhstan, stressing the important role of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in the successful development of our country.

“Thanks to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, in a short time you have managed to create excellent conditions for the development of Kazakhstani people, and above all, for young people. You have built a unique capital city. Nursultan Nazarbayev can be called the chief architect of Kazakhstan’s statehood,” said Nurdinjon Ismoilov.

Speaking about inter-parliamentary relations, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis noted that this visit is a great opportunity to discuss the current cooperation and prospects for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s parliament members.

In accordance with the signed Memorandum, the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan will develop inter-parliamentary cooperation to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries. In addition, the Parties will facilitate, within their competence, the expansion of the legal framework for the bilateral cooperation, promote the early ratification and entry into force of international treaties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
