THE SPEAKER OF THE MAZHILIS DUSCUSSED THE INTER-PARLIAMENTARY COOPERATION ISSUES WITH FOREIGN COLEAGUES

 Astana, March 30, the House of the Mazhilis. During participation in the 132^nd IPU Assembly in Hanoi (Vietnam), the Chairman of the Mazhilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov held bilateral meetings with the speakers of the parliaments of Vietnam, Jordan and Sweden, as well as with the leadership of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

During the conversation with the Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung the importance of the first official visit of the Kazakh delegation is described to the development of inter-parliamentary contacts.

The two parties expressed their confidence that the cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vietnam has great potential, and the implementation of the agreements reached between the presidents of the two countries, gives impetus to the further strengthening of the Kazakh-Vietnamese cooperation in all the areas. Kabibulla Dzhakupov and Nguyen Sinh Hung agreed to exchange experience in the legislative sphere, as well as to strengthen inter-parliamentary contacts between the relevant committees and groups on cooperation.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis also spoke about the political and socio-economic processes taking place today in Kazakhstan. In particular, they talked about the election campaign of the president in Kazakhstan.

These themes were continued in the course of the meeting of the Chairman of the Mazhilis with the Speakers from the Parliaments of Jordan and Sweden.

Special attention during the meeting with the President of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Jordan Atef Al-Taraunoy, the Speaker of the Riksdag of Sweden Urban Alin and also with the Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Saber Hossain Chowdhury was paid to the issues of international security, particularly in the case of nuclear non-proliferation, and the contribution of Kazakhstan in their settlement and solution.
