PLENARY SESSION OF THE MAZHILIS OF THE PARLIAMENT WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

Astana, April 29, the House of the Mazhilis. Today in the Mazhilis a plenary meeting of the House was held with participation of the President of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov on behalf of the Mazhilis deputies congratulated the Head of the State with unconditional victory in the general elections.

Addressing the President of the country, Kabibulla Dzhakupov noted that citizens of Kazakhstan have shown an unprecedented example of unity and solidarity by voting in unison in these elections. This, according to the Speaker of the Mazhilis, excited the advanced democracies that have not seen such a civic engagement and the triumph of the national declaration of intention.

- While in other countries, the presidential elections are often a bone of contention, in Kazakhstan it has become a major factor in the consolidation and unity of our people, - said K.Dzhakupov, at the same time wishing the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev good health and inexhaustible energy in his idea implementation to turn Kazakhstan into Everlasting Nation - the Country forever!

After the President’s speech, in which he outlined the prospects of domestic and foreign policy of the country and proposed the candidature of Karim Massimov for the post of Prime Minister of the country, the Deputies of the Mazhilis Mayra Aisina, Vladislav Kossarev and Azat Peruashev spoke before the House, who expressed their support for the candidacy of the Head of Government, proposed by the President of the country.

Then, in accordance with the Article 56 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Mazhilis deputies voted, thereby giving the unanimous consent to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to appoint Karim Massimov to the post of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Prime Minister speaking from the parliamentary rostrum thanked the President and deputies for the high level of confidence.
